Volume 1 includes the coming of the Romans (55 B.C.), the legend of King Arthur, Alfred the Great, Edmund Ironside, the Battle of Hastings, William the Conqueror through the Norman Kings, the Plantagenet Kings through Henry VI (1471) of Windsor and the Maid of Orleans. Volume 2 starts with the War of the Roses (1455), goes through the Tudor Kings and the Stuart Kings, the Story of How Canada was Won, and How America was Lost, the Battle of Waterloo, and it ends with the Boer War and the death of Queen Victoria (1901). 523 pages
