Product Details

Elder Bruce R. McConkie of the Quorum of the Twelve, made a speech at a symposium on the New Testament held at the Brigham Young University campus on Aug. 15-17, 1984. The title of this speech was "The Bible, a Sealed Book". During this speech, Elder McConkie made reverence to publications and teachings of early Church leaders which, even though they have not been canonized by the Church, should still be considered approved and inspired teachings, and "are true and should be used along with the scriptures themselves in learning and teaching the gospel". Next to the standard works five of the greatest documents in our literature are-- "The Wentworth Letter", "Lectures on Faith", "The Father and the Son: A Doctrinal Exposition by the First Presidency and the Twelve", the "King Follett Sermon", the "Sermon in the Grove," and "The Origin of Man," by the First Presidency of the Church. These and other selected sermons and writings have been compiled into this volume. Other topics taught by the prophets include the Priesthood, the gathering of Israel, the whole of America as Zion, a poetic version of Doctrine and Covenants section 76, and a vision of the last days. 169 pages
