Benjamin F. Johnson (1818-1905)

Born in the State of New York, Johnson was baptized in Kirtland, Ohio, in 1835. He was close to the Prophet Joseph Smith as both friend and brother-in-law, Johnson wrote an intimate portrayal as few others were able. His closeness to Joseph Smith brought him into open discussions about plural marriage and temple ordinances. Johnson was a witness to marvelous manifestations, and on occasions offered his life for the Church.
