Anthony W. Ivins (1852-1934)
Born in New Jersey, he was a resident of Salt Lake City by the age of nine. As an adult he became active in political and community affairs, serving as a constable, city councilor, city attorney, and mayor in St. George, Utah, and county prosecuting attorney, tax assessor and collector for Washington County, and as a Representative to the State Legislature. He served missions to Mexico, Arizona, and New Mexico, and was ordained an Apostle in 1907. In 1921, he was called as Second Counselor to President Heber J. Grant, and as First Counselor in 1925.
