Publishers of Rare and Out of Print Mormon Books
Welcome to the world of Historical Mormon Books! Not that there aren't many good histories and historians today - but these writings are different. They tell the stories of the LDS Church's growth through its formative years from the vantage of those who lived through the events. They are "first-hand" accounts by the makers of history - not scholarly syntheses of other writings. Are they better? Not necessarily; but the accounts are generally more personalized and told with greater passion. Likewise, doctrinal expositions were often written by early Latter-day Saints who stood close to the Prophet Joseph Smith and amplify their initial understandings and concerns.
For several years, the demand for rare and out-of-print Mormon Books has continually increased. Older writings have not only been unaffordable for the average reader but have been difficult to locate. Sensing the mounting demand for early historical Church literature, LDS Archive Publishers has collected (and continually adds to) a library of doctrinal, historical and faith-promoting writings for the layman as well as the researcher.
The growing catalog of Church writings is indexed by each author's name; the title of the work; a brief description of the contents; and the cost. Many have been magnified for easier reading (the pioneers seemed to like tiny print). Most are 8" X 5 1/4" and professionally softbound.
